Dear Sorors,
Let me start by saying “THANK YOU” to our Preceding National President, Alicia Jackson. Thank you for your wisdom and for entrusting me with your legacy. I will not let you down.
Sorors, it is an honor for me, as your 2nd National President, to offer these words of introduction. I would first like to welcome you all to a new year that will be full of challenges and new experiences. As we become involved in our programs this year, we must be determined to make this year even better than the last. It is imperative that we fulfill the proverb I once read in a book a long time ago that still reigns true, “we cannot stop until our good is better and our better is best.”
Our mission is to view our organization as one that is empowered, effervescent and dynamic. We are an organization certain of its worth, sovereign in its actions and spirited in its undertakings. We are self-assured and self–reliant; while promoting ourselves positively in our individual communities. Our goal is not to fit in, or to cope, rather it is to triumph. We view the world as ours for the taking, where there is always the option and the power to act.
We are the beautiful ladies of Gamma Psi Omega Sorority, Inc. We are an organization of dedicated, social conscious young women, who pride ourselves in our sorority's diversity, for it is not our educational or career goals, physical characteristics, social background or other such traits that define us.
We must assume the responsibility of our organization’s growth and direction. The challenge is all of ours for the taking! Fore our most intimate and inevitable designation lies in our capability to be true to our sisters and foremost to ourselves. To fail at that is to fail altogether, but to succeed is to succeed completely.
As an organization, let’s strive to be the best in the world. Remember, we are SURVIVORS! And if we believe in our greatness, we will be the best.
